At the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, you will learn the life of the volcano in many physical remnants situated through the park. The Thurston Lava Tube takes you through an actual path once taken by flowing lava, leading to the Jagger Museum, which chronicles the life of the volcano. A walk along the Halema’uma’u Crater, over billowing steam vents, ends at the Kalapana viewing area where you will see Mount Kilauea in action. Continuously erupting since 1983, Kilauea is the most active volcano in the world and as it reaches the ocean, adds to the size of the youngest and largest island in Hawaii.
